Overview

Water Technology was commissioned by the East Gippsland Catchment Management Authority to review all reports that have been prepared on the Lower Snowy River. Following the review linkages were developed between the values, processes and pressures within the estuary and these were incorporated into a Bayesian Decision Support Network.

The study incorporated ecological interactions, coastal and estuarine processes, hydrology, water quality, tourism, farming practices and recreation.

Climate scenarios were reviewed and critical issues the may affect the overall function and values of the estuary were incorporated into the decision making process. This information was then developed into a suite of actions that will direct the future investment on the floodplain.
